Tamie Scalise, Associate Pastor

Tamie Scalise, born in upstate New York and raised in Lancaster County, now resides in the Reading area with her partner and two amazing children. With a Master’s degree in Elementary education, Tamie served in public schools before resigning to pursue her Master of Divinity at Lancaster Theological Seminary.  In three different churches, Tamie has developed children and youth ministry programs that encourage our young people to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through open conversations and real-world learning experiences within a safe, loving faith community. Moreover, her passion for social justice work around issues of race and poverty is reflected in her leadership with Tesserae, a team committed to supporting the vision of Village Mozayik in Haiti. Village Mozayik is a community of 126 homeless families who united in 2010 following the earthquake to build a village in Hinche where everyone has a home and safe place to live. In her free time, Tamie writes poetry and enjoys nature through hiking and camping.

Laura Taddie, Director of Youth Ministries

Laura L. Taddie was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, where family values took precedent and planted seeds of faith. A faith that would eventually be harshly tested upon rejection from the church. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science from Drexel University, Laura relocated to Northern New Jersey and began a lucrative career in medical device. Far from her childhood passion to make Jesus’ love known, Laura traveled throughout the United States and Europe partnering with surgeons to design reconstructive orthopedic implant systems, clinically study implant effectiveness, as well as provide instruction in the operating room. In 2014, Laura had a strong notion to resign from her corporate career and move back to Philadelphia. While rediscovering her relationship with God, she did what she knew best: medical device. Laura started her own consulting firm, grato llc, as well as assumed the role of chief executive officer of Animotion llc, a start-up device company derived from the University of Pennsylvania’s Center of Innovation. In 2016, Laura experienced a divine force that caused her to ‘drop her net’ completely and follow Jesus. After an intense spiritual battle between what she wanted to do with her life, and what God wanted to do with her life, Laura is now in seminary studying public ministry. She says, “ know her story is to tell of a real walk with Jesus”.
